Crunchyroll Announces New Simulcasts


Food Wars! The Second Plate: Continuation from right where the last season left off with Yoshitomo Yonetani continuing directing at J.C. Staff which is based off Yuto Tsukuda, Yuki Morisaki and Shun Saeki’s manga which has been running in Weekly Shounen Jump since November 2012, Crunchyroll announces they will be streaming Food Wars! Saturdays starting July 2 @ 7:00 AM PT in USA, Canada, UK, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Latin America, the Middle East and North Africa, Netherlands, Scandinavia, Turkey, Austria, Bulgaria, Comoros, Czech Republic, Estonia, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Poland, Portugal, Republic of Croatia, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, and Spain. Crunchyroll describes the series as:

Yukihira Soma has been helping out at his family diner his entire life. Upon graduating from junior high, he is prompted by his father to join an elite cooking school, Totsuki Teahouse Culinary Academy, where less than 10% of students have been known to make it to graduation. Soma overcomes many challenges and hones his culinary skills, meeting like-minded classmates and influential figures in the student body along the way.

Soma eventually wins the right to compete in the academy’s traditional Autumn Elections where only the chosen few first-years are allowed entry. Soma loses to his opponent by a single point, but makes it into the next round along with Megumi, Takumi, Hisako, Alice, Kurokiba, Hayama, and Mimasaka. Whom among them will be his next opponent, and who will emerge victorious?


Love Live! Sunshine!!: The successor to the original series, this time directed by Kazuo Sakai at Sunrise Crunchyroll will stream this series in the UK and Ireland Saturdays starting July 2 @ 7:30 AM PT. FUNimation will stream the series in US and Canada as we previously reported. Crunchyroll describes the series as:

Uranohoshi Girls’ High School, a private school in the seaside neighborhood of Uchiura at Numazu city, Shizuoka prefecture.

A small high school in a corner of Suruga Bay, it is home to nine teens,

Cute High Earth Defense Club LOVE! LOVE!: Just like the previous season this will be shared between Crunchyroll and FUNimation. Crunchyroll will offer Studio Comet’s original anime worldwide (excluding Asia) Thursdays starting July 7 @ 12:00 PM PT. Crunchyroll describes the series as:

Binan High School in Northern Kanto is the home for the Binan High School Earth Defense Club. Under strange circumstances, they’d transformed into Battle Lovers and started taking on the Earth Conquest Club. And now it’s been half a year since they started. They find out that the Defense Club and the Conquest Club were being pitted against each other due to a program on TV Space. And after the two clubs reconcile, they work together to defeat the mastermind, the show director, and get it canceled.

OZMAFIA: Based off the visual novel by Poni-Pachet which has been release in English by Manga Gamer comes a series of shorts directed by Hisayoshi Hirasawa at Creators in Pack. Crunchyroll will air the series Wednesdays starting July 6 @ 9:30 AM worldwide excluding Japan, China, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan. Crunchyroll describes the series as:

OZMAFIA!! was originally released as a PC game for all ages (recommended for 15 years old and over) in June 2013, then its PS Vita edition (CERO rating: C) titled “OZMAFIA!! -vivace-” followed in February 2015. The story of the game centers on an amnesia girl named Fuka. When wandering in a strange town, she is suddenly hunted by unknown attackers. She is rescued by the OZ family, one of the mafia groups ruling the town. The OZMAFIA!! spin-off TV anime, however, focuses on school life of the four main boys set in OZ Academy. The main heroine of the game Fuka is not expected to appear.
