Crunchyroll’s January 5 Simulcast Announcements (featuring some FUNimation dubs)

First up is School Girl Strikers which will release Fridays starting January 6 @ 9:30 AM worldwide except Asia. The series is based of a Square Enix mobile game which released in 2014. The series is directed by Hiroshi Nishikiori at J.C. Staff and Crunchyroll describes it as:

The newly established private high school for girls, Goryoukan Academy, has a hidden face that people on the outside don’t know about…

Mysterious apparitions called “Oburi” have appeared from a rift in space-time. The only ones capable of fighting this enemy of mankind are girls known as “Strikers,” who have the ability to sense the fifth dimension. Goryoukan Academy is actually an organization that seeks out girls who are more than meets the eye and trains them up for the “Fifth Force,” a combat force created to subjugate the Oburi. The story of the battles and friendships of five girls who comprise the newly assembled team “Altair Torte” is about to begin!

Next up is the regions and times for Koro Sensei Quest have finally been announced (despite 3 episodes already airing) as Thursdays @ 8:40 AM PT in US, Canada, UK, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa as well as Premium Members in Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Iceland, and Netherlands. FUNimation’s dub will air Wednesdays (they list Tuesday) starting January 11 @ 7:00 PM PT.

Next is ACCA: 13-Territory Inspection Dept. which will stream Tuesdays starting January 10 @ 8:00 AM PT in United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, and Latin America. The series is directed by Shingo Natsume at Madhouse and based on Natsume Ono’s manga which ran in Big Gangan from Jun 2013 to Oct 2016. FUNimation’s dub will air Thursdays starting January 26 @ 6:30 PM PT. Crunchyroll describes the series as:

“ACCA” is a giant unified syndicate residing in a kingdom split into 13 autonomous regions. ACCA was formed back when there was threat of a coup d’etat, and it has continued to protect the peace of civilians for almost one hundred years. Fuuka which will air Fridays starting January 6 with time TBA. Fuuka will air in North America, Latin America (Central and South America including Caribbean), United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Nordics, and Netherlands. Fuuka is based off Kouji Seo’s manga which has been running in Weekly Shounen Magazine since Feb 2014 and directed by Keizou Kusakawa at Diomedea. FUNimation’s dub will air Wednesdays starting January 25 @ 6:00 PM PT. Crunchyroll describes the series as:

Yuu Haruna has transferred to a school in Tokyo so he can live with his sisters after their parents moved to America. Continuing on is Interviews With Monster Girls which will stream Saturdays starting January 7 @ 9:30 AM PT worldwide except Asia. Directed by Ryou Andou at A-1 Pictures and based off the manga by Petosu which has been running in Young Magazine the 3rd since Sept 2014. Crunchyroll describes the series as:

Succubi, dullahans, snow women and vampires… We’re a little different from humans and called “demi-humans.” Lately, we’ve been called “demis.”

This is a stimulating and heartful school demi-human comedy featuring those very unique “demis” and a high school teacher named Takahashi Tetsuo, who’s highly interested in learning more about their daily lives and habits.

Next is Chaos;Child which will air Wednesdays starting January 11 @ 9:00 AM PT worldwide except Asia. Based off the visual novel released by 5pb. in December 2014 and directed by Masato Jinbou at Silver Link. FUNimation’s dub will air Tuesdays starting January 31 @ 6:30 PM PT. Crunchyroll describes the series as:

Shibuya, 2015. In a city recovering from the “Shibuya Earthquake” which devastated it six years ago, Takuru Miyashiro, a student at the newly built private high school “Hekiho Academy” investigates a series of serial killings known as “The Return of the New Generation Madness” as part of his work for the school’s newspaper club…
