Xbox Live Games with Gold – April 2016

This month we are receiving a mass of hit Xbox One and Xbox 360 games for free. For the entire month of April, you have the opportunity to get Telltale Games’ (known for The Walking Dead) The Wolf Among Us ($24.99 USD). The Wolf Among Us is an episodic series (sticking true with the Telltale formula) centers around the comic book by the same name, although it is a canon prequel. You play as the main protagonist, Bigby Wolf, and engage in a point-and-click style adventure as you make decisions that will affect the future of the story held within five total episodes.

From April 16th – May 15th, we’ll be receiving the Xbox One exclusive Sunset Overdrive ($29.99 USD), a game created by Insomniac Games (known for Ratchet and Clank and Spyro). Sunset Overdrive is a third-person shooter set in a desolate metropolitan city overrun by humans-turned-monsters called the OD (Overcharge drinkers). Overcharge is an energy drink that was brought to the city and anyone who consumes it turns into a monster of sorts. The job of the player is to rid the city of these creatures and bring attention to FizzCo, the creators of the drink.

Now, on Xbox 360, until April 15th, we’ll receive Visceral Games’ (known for MySims) Dead Space ($14.99 USD). Dead Space is a third-person shooter, survival horror game set in space on the USG Ishimura. The player controls the main protagonist, Isaac Clark, as he has to fight to survive an onslaught of Necromorphs which are reanimated human corpses, similar to zombies. Each Necromorph possesses new abilities and weaknesses that the player must get accustomed to.

And, finally, from April 16th – April 30th, we’ll receive Volition’s (known for Red Faction) Saints Row IV ($34.99), which, surprisingly, is the most expensive game on this list. Saints Row IV is an open-world, action-adventure game set in 1950’s America. The main character plays the boss of the Saints, a street gang, who becomes President of the United States where he proceeds to gain superpowers and has to defend the planet against an aggressive alien race. Yes, this is the actual plot.

There you have it, April’s Games with Gold. We are receiving a total of $104.96 worth of games, and all of the Xbox 360 are backwards compatible. If you have an Xbox One, they will be available alongside the free Xbox One games for the month. What do you think of this month’s free games? What do you want to see in next month’s lineup?
