Xbox Live Games with Gold – August 2015

A new month has come, which means a new batch of free games is now available to Xbox Live Gold subscribers. Last month, we received $79.96 worth of free games, so let’s see how this month stacks up.

First, on Xbox 360, we have Metro 2033 ($19.99), a survival-horror first-person shooter, from 4A Games. Metro 2033 follows the story of Artyom, one of the last few survivors living in post-apocolyptic Russia. You must fight against mutants and other living humans to survive what could be considered “hell on Earth”. Metro 2033 will be available from August 1st – 15th. Following that is Metro: Last Light ($19.99), the sequel to Metro 2033. Metro: Last Light follows the same character, Artyom, but, unlike Metro 2033, it doesn’t follow the books that the games were derived from. Keeping with the same survival-horror first-person shooter aspect of the first game, Last Light adds new weapons and a new storyline, taking place one year after the previous installment. Metro: Last Light will be available from August 16th – August 31st.

Next up, for Xbox One, the previous Games with Gold game, So Many Me, will be available until August 16th. Also available at this time will be Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes ($19.99), an action-adventure stealth game from Kojima Productions. The game follows the main protagonist, Solid Snake, as he infilitrates a secret government project under command of MSF. From August 16th – August 31st, How to Survive: Storm Warning Edition ($19.99) will be available to subscribers. How to Survive is a zombie action-adventure game from Eko Software that puts the character in a zombie infestation, where all they can do is survive. You will need to find food, water, shelter, and weapons to survive the perilous onslaught of zombies that are coming for you. The Storm Warning Edition even comes with a bunch of DLC, a rare occurence in Games with Gold.

So, there you have it; a solid month for Xbox Live Gold subscribers where we are given another $79.96. With what we were given last month, I’d say that this was a huge improvement, where we are given three critically acclaimed titles as well as a game with DLC included. What will next month hold? We’ll just have to wait and see. Comment below what you would like to see next month or tweet us on the BlazeKick or on my personal Twitter, @GeminiTrinity.
