Xbox Live Games with Gold – August 2016

Another month has come which means a new set of games are given out for free for Xbox Live Gold subscribers. Last month, we received The Banner Saga 2 and Tumblestone for Xbox One as well as Tom Clacy’s Rainbow Six: Vegas 2 and Tron: Evolution for the Xbox 360 (and Xbox One through backwards compatibility).

Starting with Xbox One, we’re receiving Omega Force‘s (known for the Dynasty Warriors series) Warriors Orochi 3 Ultimate ($59.99 USD) which is warriorsorochi3ultimateone of the most expensive games we’ve ever received. Warriors Orochi 3 is a mix between the Dynasty Warriors and Samurai Warriors series and serves as a sequel to Warriors Orochi 2. Essentially, Warriors Orochi 3 Ultimate is an HD port, keeping the story and characters the same but improving the lighting and graphics. This game will be available for the entire month of August.

From August 16th to September 15th, WWE 2K16 ($39.99 USD) from Yuke’s will be available. The newest addition to the WWE series includes an updated roster of wrestlers, arenas, and game modes that allow players to create characters, play story mode, become a GM, and even play online with friends and random players.

Going onto the Xbox 360, Gold subscribers will receive Spelunky ($19.99 USD) from Mossmouth. In Spelunky, players will collect treasures, fight 575a6e23561ad2c9a91cc976a25fdf4a-650-80enemies, and save people whilst traveling through caverns in this rouge-like action-adventure game. From August 1st to August 15th, this game will be made free for all Gold subscribers.

And, finally, from Ubisoft Montpellier and Milan, we will receive Beyond Good & Evil HD ($14.99 USD) a remastered version of the hit 2003 action-adventure game of a similar title. The story is based around Jade, an investigative reporter who lives in the year 2435. She must join the resistance movement to rid the planet of the alien conspiracy.

A truly spectacular month for Xbox Live Gold subscribers, I think. In total, we’re receiving $134.96 total in free games this month. What do you think of this month’s games?
